Our Developer Portal offers more than a library of APIs. We offer developers a hub for innovation and the symbiotic exchange of ideas.
One good idea seeds another
Collaboration has always been at the heart of our payment processing success. Since its start in 2000, Beanstream’s e-commerce success has rested on developer innovation. We know our APIs work because we are our biggest consumer. Over 400 integrated partners and 8000 successful integrations have also proven our APIs are robust and flexible. Perhaps it is no surprise we’ve already seeing an exponential influx of new registrants.
And now there is even more impetus – as a part of Digital River’s global operation, we’re reaching into the UK and US, sparking the global developer community.
Aligning with the needs of a cutting-edge and dynamic developer community.
It is not enough to just push useful integrations to our valued developer community. We want to help your work get visible, provide you with cutting-edge opportunities, and reach out for your advice.
Today, we offer a developer blog, the ability to load and link your own integrations in our code garden and watch them take root. You can sign up for a user account, join our alpha-geek team, or ask a question on our developer-specific twitter-feed.
Tomorrow opens a world of possibility, spearheaded by our new Developer Liaison, Brent Owens.
“I’m looking forward to working with the developer community to shape the face of payments,” says Brent.
He would love to hear your ideas.
Highly capable APIs
“A big part of Beanstream’s success is that we’ve kept our APIs simple and flexible from the start,” says Shawn Gerty, Director of Software Architecture for Beanstream. “This gives our APIs their power.”
- Take Payments enables merchants to access to our powerful Processing REST API. Merchants choose between a straightforward payment interface requiring very few parameters or they can customize a feature-rich integration. Note, we also offer hosted payment solutions and our previous series of Classic Developer APIs.
- Tokenize Payments enables merchants to store customer card data or confidential information on Beanstream’s servers instead of on the merchant’s system, drastically reducing the merchant’s PCI responsibilities. Our Tokenization REST API allows the merchant, when it comes time to make a payment, to pass a unique customer code or “token” to the Beanstream gateway instead of the confidential information. As an added advantage, repeat customers enjoy a much more streamlined checkout process.
- Analyze Payments enables merchants to leverage our Reporting REST API to generate and download customized reports through simple search and sort functions. This allows omni-channel reporting where the data across all types of payment, whether mobile, e-commerce or card-not-present can be combined to provide a full analysis of business trends.
We have also supplied new programming languages for operational examples of all core process payment actions. Languages include: Python, Ruby and PHP.
So, stop by, take a look around, check out our code, show off your code and feel free to give feedback.
