Beanstream 2016

2016 – A Year in Review

As 2016 comes to a close, we would like to pause and reflect on the year past, and celebrate with our readers on all the year’s accomplishments. To keep ourselves honest we will also evaluate where we had shortcomings, allowing us to put our best foot forward for 2017.

Celebrate Our Accomplishments

We had a very busy year here at Beanstream. We celebrated our one year anniversary with Bambora, and we released over nine new products!

Also not to be forgotten, we relaunched our partner marketplace, where partners can showcase their products and services, allowing merchants to shop around for solutions.

Our Support Team was equally busy, with over 78,100 support tickets submitted. The best news? The average rating on these support tickets were 91.2%, showing that the volume of tickets did not get in the way of customer satisfaction and resolution.

All this work did not stop us from giving back to the local community, and share with them in our success. We joined the local VIATEC Food Bank Challenge and contributed to raising a total of $76,664.60 in cash and 5,441lbs of food (Beanstream was the single largest contributor of non-perishable food items!) We also hosted a Christmas Breakfast for the Single Parent Resource Centre, along with the Victoria Fire Fighter Charitable.

Evaluate Our Shortcomings

In 2016, we did a survey to our customers to hear directly from the source where we can do better. One of the most obvious areas for improvement was better clarification and communication about our products and services. To meet this, we started our regular e-bulletin newsletter to our customers to highlight new products, industry news, and other noteworthy things. We also strive to ensure that the language that we use it relevant and easy to comprehend. Banish the jargon!

(Psst – For those of you that are new to payments, we have built our Payments Explained blog series and regularly add to our ABC of Payments.)

Another ask for in the survey was for better reporting. Which leads us to our best foot forward in 2017…

Our Best Foot Forward for 2017

2017 will hopefully be a year to awe and delight our customers. We have a few major projects in the works for 2017 to help simplify payments, provide better reporting, and help developers perform faster integrations. We will welcome the zebraf (Bambora) into North America, and say goodbye to the bean (Beanstream). We have the plans, the team, and the passion – we’re excited to hit the ground running in 2017.

Looking ahead to 2017, what do you want to see from us? Let us know in the comments below! Who knows, your dreams just might come true!
